Improving clinical outcomes
AI in Healthcare
Huma can revolutionise healthcare and promote proactive patient engagement and accessibility, to relieve overburdened healthcare systems. More than 18 million GP appointments and 2.1 million visits to A&E are for self-treatable conditions, costing the NHS more than £850 million a year. myGP's skin scanner, powered by AUTODERM’s AI technology, is a great example of how iPlato Healthcare harnesses emerging technology to provide innovative solutions to streamline healthcare and increase efficiency
Huma is collaborating with its partners to launch a study to record a variety of continuous physiological measures such as respiratory rate, heart rate, O2, sleep metrics, and activity from patients with COPD. Huma’s scientists will collate this data to develop an AI Model that learns an individual’s baseline and then monitors for deviations that may signify imminent deterioration, enabling early intervention to ameliorate exacerbations.
How do we support patients?
Through our app, patients access a care plan configured for their needs by clinicians using a library of modules and features. Patients can feel reassured that their clinicians are monitoring them using real-time data visualisation. Our platform can also deliver targeted educational content, empowering patients to better track and manage their health.

Questionnaires
The app provides validated clinical questionnaires, for example the Oxford Knee Score, EQ-5D, Global Health Score and Promis CAT.

Connected devices
We offer both manual data entry and connection to a number of medical devices to aid data collection.

Vital signs
Patients can use their phones and integrated devices to capture and monitor health vitals safely and remotely.

Educational content
We support patients with educational content about their symptoms, care and treatment.

Telemedicine
Patients can receive additional support from their clinical team through secure video and audio consultations.

How do we support healthcare professionals?
We support clinical decision-making by providing care teams with real-time visibility of patient data through a web-based portal. The portal features threshold-based flagging systems, trend visualisation and telemedicine for direct communication.

Connect to health systems and export data
Clinicians can export data from the web-based portal in multiple formats. The care team portal can also connect with electronic health systems or data registries to enable automatic export based on set timeframes.

Telemedicine and appointments
Clinicians can quickly and securely speak to patients through video and audio calls and schedule in-person consultations to ensure they are on track with their care plan and to check any irregularities flagged in their health records.

Cohort management and prioritisation
Clinicians can manage multiple patients within a web-based portal. The technology can use a clinician-determined threshold to flag patients who might need prioritising, based on the data submitted by patients through the app.

Monitoring of individual patients
The portal can display information about individual patients and visualise data trends. Clinicians can add notes and collaborate with colleagues to ensure the patient receives the optimal care they need.

Caring for patients on surgical waiting lists
We are working with clinicians at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals to help clinicians safely and efficiently manage patients who are waiting for surgery. Our technology is just one way the clinical teams are working with their patients, but it gives them greater ability to remotely monitor patients and identify any who need further intervention.

Covid-19
Powering national COVID-19' hospital at home' deployments
Huma's 'hospital at home' service for COVID-19 allows clinicians to remotely monitor their patients via their smartphones. Our technology has shown to almost double clinical capacity, reduce readmissions, improve patient experience, and save money. Operating at a national-level across England, Germany and the UAE.

"I got all the monitoring of a hospital ward, right here at home."

Diabetes
Caring for patients with diabetes
Using Huma's technology, healthcare systems are supporting each patient to manage their chronic disease and improve their quality of life and health outcomes. Huma in partnership with Discover-NOW, a health data research hub for real-world evidence, and Know Diabetes are enabling remote care for people living with type 2 diabetes. Together we are utilising real world data to support high-quality research, with the ambition of transforming care for patients with type 2 diabetes.

Orthopedics
Caring for patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery
Our 'hospital at home' supports perioperative care. Educational content, questionnaires, symptom and activity tracking and telemedicine help prepare patients. Remote monitoring aids rehabilitation and aggregated, anonymised data drives clinical advances.

"The app is a major development which we believe will make an immediate impact on the surgical landscape."
